We would like to extend a warm welcome to students from Ireland and all over the world looking for an inspiring and rewarding summer school.

Teenage Stage offers 11 to 19 year olds an advanced and intensive residential week.  A unique blend of  theatre training with exciting workshops plus a live finale to family and friends in seven days.

Supported by Centre for Drama and Theatre Studies at NUIG and Music Theatre International, we offer today's young performer an educationally enriching course and a wonderful holiday.

Teenage Stage is one of only a few theatre and film schools in Europe that partner with boarding schools. Ours is a traditional summer school that has maintained the best of traditions whilst constantly introducing innovative ideas and new ways of teaching.

Each course provides a complete drama school week where students learn from the finest teachers and, outside the rehearsal room, enjoy an impressive and inclusive range of guest workshops, excursions and evening activities.

The beautiful surrounding areas provide a stunning location and a very safe environment for an exciting learning experience.

We look forward to welcoming you to Teenage Stage this summer!

In Association with NUI Galway

A forward letter from Professor Patrick Lonergan

We at the Centre for Drama and Theatre Studies at NUI Galway are delighted to support this exciting initiative. Teenage Stage Summer Schools will give young people from Ireland and around the world an opportunity to spend an intensive week in the world of musical theatre, working with first-rate teachers and practitioners. Along the way, they will certainly learn a great deal, and will meet new people.

We look forward to contributing to the school in a variety of ways: by advising on the curriculum, by involving our own undergraduate Drama students, by hosting a visit of participants to our campus for a special evening of entertainment – and in other ways too. In doing so, we want to play our part in making Teenage Stage Summer Schools a rigorous, educationally rich and enjoyable immersion in the world of theatre.

"Elena, 13, was the only Italian girl on Dublin's Teenage Stage 2017 and it was her very first experience abroad by herself.

She got to meet lovely new friends from Ireland and greatly enjoyed both rehearsals and free time.

The final show was just amazing and one cannot help wondering how those kids could prepare it in just one week.

It made us love Sweeney Todd, a musical that we had never properly appreciated."

Gianluca Di Lorenzo, Parent
